UK data centre conference will present trailblazing use cases of software-defined infrastructure

May 14 will herald the return of SDX Leadership – the UK’s premier conference examining modern infrastructure – as prominent IT leaders line up to discuss the next generation of data centres.

Last year's event, in London, was the first conference dedicated solely to 'software-defined anything' (SDX), as industry experts explained the emerging technology's capabilities, requirements and ultimate value to businesses.

One year on and the technology has began to mature, with senior IT executives now eager to learn from the experiences of early adopters.

Simon Binley, principal ICT project manager at Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, will lead the charge by presenting how the world-leading research centre deployed a scalable platform to deal with growing data requirements.

Binley will be followed throughout the day by more transformational case studies from three other organisations that have benefited from such innovation: Adapt, Calligo and NewVoiceMedia.

Attendees will also be treated to a presentation by a man who has been at the forefront of research of disruptive internet technologies like software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualisation, Dr. Reza Nejabati.

Leading speakers from OpenStack Foundation, Ovum, Data Centre Alliance and the Green Grid will also be on hand to share their own thoughts on how the data centre is evolving.

SDX Leadership is the latest in Information Age’s popular Leadership Series, which gathers IT executives once a quarter to discover the business value of emerging innovations.

It examines how technologies like virtualisation, cloud and software-defined infrastructure are presenting more cost effective, scalable and performance-enhancing ways of supporting an organisation’s infrastructure.

Above all else, the expert speakers will cut through the hype to discuss how organisations can align such initiatives with key business objectives, and how IT can lead this transformation.
